Career Discovery Project
- Take questionnaire at The Career Key
- PRINT all of the professions that come up. Write a brief justification for the one that you will research. Take the personality type and Keirsey temperament sorter,
Personality Type and Keirsey Temperment Sorter II
For the Keirsey, only fill in age, gender, marital status and zip code. Use this information to think more about yourself and your personality - Interview 3 adults. Ask each of them to describe their "career path" to you. One or both of these 3 can be one of your parents. Fill out a career path form on each of them.
- Research Your Career - Click on this link to find additional websites to research your career.
- Go to the website: Peterson's College Profiler On the left hand side of the page, click on General Search. Next to Keyword Search, type in the major you want to study in order to enter the career that you have researched. From the list of colleges that match your preferences, select four of them. Go to the websites for these four schools. Complete the "College Research" form for each of them.
- EXTRA CREDIT: Interview a person who is actually in the career field that you are researching. Complete the "Extra Credit Interview Form," and incorporate information from this person in the body of your research paper.
- Write your research paper, using the guidelines given to you by your English teacher.
