Philosophy

At Marian, learning and scholarship are central. All other endeavors flow from this central purpose. The co-curricular program is offered in line with the educational philosophy that academics come first, but that the co-curricular program is an integral part in the educational process of high school students. As stated in the Marian Central School Philosophy, a goal of the school is "to provide student leadership opportunities within the school community."

With this theme in mind, the co-curricular program with its various types of activities has been established. Below is a synopsis of these activities. Students are encouraged to become involved in as many activities as possible. However, they need to be made aware of the importance of dedication, attendance and practices, fairness, teamwork and doing the best that they can, all while maintaining their class work.
