Marian Central Theater Presents Annie

Did you see Marian Central’s production of Annie back in 2010? Well don’t worry if you missed it, you have a second chance. This fun, entertaining show full of heart and hope, and the belief that dreams really can come true, will be presented on stage at Marian Central Catholic High School’s auditorium this spring. Written by Thomas Meehan, music and lyrics by Charles Strouse and Martin Charmin, this year’s musical  Annie will run at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, and at 2:00 p.m. for a matinee performance on Sunday, March 15, 2020. *Dress Up, Bring Your Camera, For a Photo Op with Your Favorite Character for the Saturday performance!*This classical musical, whose Broadway production won a Tony Award for Best Musical, is based on the Harold Gray comic strip,  Little Orphan Annie. The show tells the early 1930’s story of a spunky little red-haired orphaned girl, Annie, who lands into the care of  billionaire Oliver Warbucks. From the spirited orphans’ first big number, “It’s a Hard-Knock Life,’’ to the conniving orphanage director, Miss Hannigan’s “Little Girls,’’ this fun-loving, toe-tapping entertainment jubilee is certain to delight audiences of all ages. Other memorable songs include: “Easy Street,’’ “Maybe’’ and “Tomorrow.’’ As Annie hopes to someday reunite with her real parents, Warbucks eventually opens his home and heart to her and her faithful canine companion, Sandy.

Marian’s show is under the direction of  Ms. Christi DeWispelaere, Mrs. Mary Jo Keogh, and musical director Mr. Jeremy Toledo.  Choreography is by Ms. Alexandria Callahan and many members of the Marian Fine Arts family share their time and talents for this year’s musical. 

Tickets will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
